Mission Manual

Since you are  reading this letter I can only surmise you are contemplating taking an International Mission Trip. You have much to consider and I am sure many questions to ask. Let me first of all assure you that your team leader will have all the information you need to make your decision from finances to sleeping accommodations. As excited and inquisitive as you are right now there is something I would like to address with you on a more personal note.

You are about to make a decision of great importance and significance. You are about to invest precious time and hard earned money and probably give up that much needed vacation time at work to do this. I can also tell you right now this is not a field trip or pleasure type vacation. On this journey you may experience a loss of comfort type amenities, such as: food not to your liking, conditions not always clean or sanitary. People who cannot understand your language and I guarantee you will get dirty.

You have been invited  into the world of International Missions. You may very well get the feeling that you are actually traveling back in time to a time when things were very simple and the necessities for life were minimal. You are going to experience some of the things that scores of Missionaries before you have given their very lives to do. You are about to experience firsthand the Great Commission (Matthew 28: 18-20). You are going to be a short term Missionary. You will witness amazing transformations in people’s spiritual lives from trips just like the one you are about to go on. You are about to experience something that words quite often cannot explain or describe. Wherever your Mission leads, from the Honduran villages on North Coast to the Island of Roatan and Utila be blessed and be safe. Return home with the story, the story of how you saw the face of Christ in your new friends so far away. Remember these words and be blessed and inspired.

“Do all the good you can, By all the means you can, In all the ways you can, In all the places you can, At all the times you can, To all the people you can, As long as ever you can.”
John Wesley
